When is the best time to visit Singapore from India? We break down the weather, festivals, crowds, and prices month by month so you can plan the perfect Singapore trip.
Singapore Weather — What to Expect
Singapore is a tropical city-state with warm, humid weather year-round — temperatures stay between 25°C and 32°C. It rains throughout the year but the heaviest rainfall is during the Northeast Monsoon (November to January). The dry season (February to April) is generally considered the best time to visit. Unlike many destinations, Singapore is a year-round destination with no real 'off-season'.
Best Time to Visit Singapore (February to April)
February to April is the driest period and ideal for sightseeing. Chinese New Year falls in this period (January/February) — the city is beautifully decorated and the celebrations are spectacular. Temperatures are slightly cooler. This is also a great time for outdoor attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, and the Night Safari. Flight and hotel prices are moderate during this period.
Singapore in May to July
May to July sees less rainfall than the monsoon months and is a popular travel period for Indian families during school holidays. The Great Singapore Sale typically runs June to August — excellent for shopping. Universal Studios, Sentosa Island, and the zoo are popular family activities. Prices peak in June during Indian school holidays — book early.
Singapore in August to October
August features Singapore's National Day celebrations (9th August) — fireworks and parades. September to October sees the inter-monsoon period with occasional afternoon showers but generally pleasant mornings. Hotel prices are relatively lower in September-October making it good value. Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix usually takes place in September.
Singapore in November to January
November to January is the Northeast Monsoon — expect more rain, particularly in November and December. December features Christmas light-up on Orchard Road and year-end festivities — the city is magical but prices peak. New Year's Eve fireworks at Marina Bay are world-class. Rain is usually short and heavy rather than all-day, so most activities can continue normally.
Flights from India to Singapore
Singapore is about 5–6 hours from most Indian cities. IndiGo, Air India, Singapore Airlines, and Scoot operate routes from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. Return flights typically cost ₹18,000–₹35,000 depending on season. Book 6–8 weeks in advance for best prices. Changi Airport (SIN) is one of the world's best — the arrival experience itself is impressive.
Visa for Indians Visiting Singapore
Indian passport holders require a visa for Singapore. A tourist visa typically takes 3–5 working days and costs approximately SGD 30 (₹1,800).
